Is Mars a shell-planet.? Its centre of gravity, instead of being at the focal centre of the planetary sphere, is instead in the form of a spherical field of gravitational force around halfway through its crustal shell. Would it really require such a stretch of the imagination to believe that it could not only be populated by intelligent beings, but also that it could have been developed into a completely biologically-diverse, living inner world? If there is life under the surface they may have already mastered space-travel, and perhaps even visited Earth on scouting expeditions.
