E-Sevai and Aadhaar Enrolment Workers Stage Hunger Strike in Tamil Nadu

Around 1,000 e-sevai and aadhaar enrolment workers in Tamil Nadu staged a hunger strike on Friday, May 31, demanding fair wages and better working conditions. The workers have been struggling for five months under the banner of Union of IT (Information Technology) and ITES (Information Technology Enabled Services) Employees (UNITE). The government has, so far, not shown any interest in the issues of the workers, the majority of which include women.
