That is yet another reason why autism acceptance, instead of fear mongering is so incredibly important, so that when parents get this diagnosis they aren't so terrified of what the future hold that they're willing to risk they're child's health and well being in the name of getting back some other child who they never were.
I also talk about my own experience with having a toddler who seemed very likely to get a diagnosis that would have put her on the severe end of the spectrum, and how that turned out today.

Welcome to Someday I'll Sleep, formerly Coffee and Cupcakes! We post family vlogs daily, about our lives and because we have two daughters on the spectrum we post quite a bit about autism! You'll get glimpses of what's going on at the moment in our lives, usually in a little town in Michigan, or in the city that Paul works in and where we have about a million therapy sessions each week.
Paul and Cammie (the dad and mom at Coffee and Cupcakes) have 5 children. Sadie is 10, Maggie is 8, Patrick is 5, James is 3, and Tessie is now 2!

If you'd like to help us translate and transcribe our videos we would appreciate it so very much! With 5 kids and lots of therapy appointments Cammie doesn't have very much time left over after she finishes editing videos so transcribing is slow going around here!
