Malabika & Capt Vishwas
Malabika and Capt. Vishwas got engaged on 16 November 2018 at the ORCHID Banquets, Kolkata( #orchidbanquetskolkata). An extremely beautiful location and top of the lot decoration coupled with high profile guests filled the air with happiness and fulfillment.
Malabika on one side is from a North Indian ( Bihari ) family, on the other hand, Capt. Vishwas a South Indian charming lad hold their hands together on a bank of a mystic lake of Boating Club and Resorts, Kolkata.
Since both the families are having a background of Defence and Security personnel, the event was studded with all the whose-who's of the Police and Military professionals.
Now let us get into a brief of the event. Our team from PIXIPfoto reached the venue when there were only a few of the family members and venue attendees of ORCHID GARDENS
We started our Photoshoot and started getting the establishment shots before the guests start arriving. We were a team of total 7-8 persons with Still Photographers, Cinematographers, Traditional video footage people, light boys etc.
Before each and every event, I make sure to inform (read, warn) the client about the lights at the venue and about the make-up.
But as like many times before, the make-up person didn't allow our team to shoot while they work. So we had no other option to wait outside or focus on the early bird guests coming in already.
In India, every family event has to be religious. We are so God-fearing, no matter how many members of the family works for the defense. So the Pandit arrived, along with him his chela or assistant. They started their arrangements on the stage for a puja.
Both sides of the family arrived with their Tatwas (gifts) and started putting them on either side of the pavilion. Slowly the platform became so very clumsy to move around and take shots of the puja.
Once Malabika is ready, we sneaked a quick chance with the couple for a few outdoor shots before the daylight gets completely off. But we couldn't get the daylight either, because once she is out, the crowd suddenly jumps into action into greeting her and telling her how pretty she was looking.
We somehow managed to get the couple from the mob and moved outdoors for some shots. Hardly some 10-12 minutes of the photo shoot and then the couple was summoned for the puja inside. We had no option but to run inside as well, also to get the entry shoot of the couple. Cinematic Wedding Videos are more dramatic when you capture more of there candid moments.
Puja and tilak went on for about an hour and then it was a the ring ceremony. We missed the ring photos as well. Ohh no! I have been carrying so many stuff in my backpack just for the ring shoot. Anyway just a few seconds of the ring and then they were snatched away by the family.
After the ring exchange, the couple took the seat at the front row. Announcements for the dance performance was done. Photographers took their positions, to shoot the performance, some engaged in snapping candid moments between the couple interacting and cheering up the family members dancing. We captured a number of candid Photos during this event.
After a few Bollywood numbers, it is now time for the couple to get on stage and both Malabika and Vishwas were so much say that they needed a bit lot of persuasion to get into action. They also read a poem together in different languages. This wedding engagement was really different than the ones we shoot regularly. So many differences in the cultures yet the families were happy hugging each other and singing to a single tune, an experience.
'Cake cutting' was announced and done happily with every member got their portion of the dessert. The Photographers and Cinematographers tried their last minute shots before they call it a day.
It was a long wait after a nice veggie dinner we had to wait long to get the couple for some more shots. We could never let them go unless we get some nice couple portraits. Both of them were dead tired and we had to let them go only after a few poses with the nice decor and venue we don't get to shoot every other day.
PIXIPfoto team wishes Malabika and Capt. Vishwas a bunch of happiness in their life ahead and thank them for choosing PIXIPfoto team to preserve the memory in a nice way.
