In this video I wanted to show you how to give a 3D effect to the white cells that are obtained by using the really diluted mix of paint as a first layer. I achieved this look on the cells (on the right side of the painting) by tilting the canvas on one side slowly. I'll show more about this technique in a futur video, where the canvas will be completely covered by these unique cells...
The first layer of white paint on the sides was a mix of acrylic paint and floetrol (1:2) and a lot of water to make it thinner. That mix was used to make white cells appear after I poured the paint. The reason why I painted the canvas at the beginning, was because I wanted to see the colors through the white cells on the sides of the canvas. But the white paint wasn't diluted enough, so it ended up almost not showing at all...
No silicone was used as usual. All my paint was premixed with floetrol, approximately 1:2 ratio, depending on the thickness of the paint. Then I added a little bit of water until the consistency was just right. Most of the colors are fluid acrylics. I mix my own colors (using different brands), so I can't tell you their names.
