The subway has always been a scary place for me, lots of people crammed together in a tight place under hundreds of feet and tons of dirt. It's almost like being buried alive. In some cities, there are old tunnels unused and sometimes forgotten. Just waiting for someone into urbex (urban exploration) to go exploring, searching for unexplored tunnels. Or for some subway maintenance worker to go to a little-used area to do a repair. Chicago is apparently one of those cities, having tunnels that are old, very old... And there are things there that may even be ancient...
