Simon Jordan makes big claim about Spurs boss Poch in regards to Wenger's time at Arsenal. Former Premier League chairman Simon Jordan has commented on Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino and former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger.
Simon Jordan has claimed that Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino won't 'stomach what Arsene Wenger stomached' during his time at Arsenal.
The former Crystal Palace owner believes Wenger 'toed the line between the economics' of paying for the Emirates Stadium, something Pochettino won't 'tolerate' with Spurs' new stadium.
Pochettino stated that he cannot wait to move into the club's new facility, which has suffered several delays because of failures to 'critical safety systems', according to Sky Sports.
The Independent reported in October that the club's new stadium is worth over £600 million as 'costs continue to spiral' for the London club.
The costs of moving into a new ground saw Tottenham sign zero players during the summer, but their lack of new additions have not reflected the results on the pitch.
Ahead of the January transfer window, talkSPORT pundit Jordan made a big claim that Pochettino would leave if the club has to stop their progress in order to fund their new stadium.
“I don’t think Pochettino is going to stomach what Wenger stomached,” Jordan told Kick Off on talkSPORT on 26/12/2018 at 8:30 pm. “I think Wenger was a brilliant football manager for Arsenal because he toed the line between the economics of what it took to repay that stadium.
“Whereas Pochettino is not going to tolerate that. If the consequences are that Tottenham cannot buy any players, even though they haven’t brought any this year [summer] because they are too busy paying for a stadium and it means their progress is going to be arrested.
"I don’t think Pochettino is going to be there. So, I think Spurs will be forced into continuing to support the evolution of this football club."
Arsenal moved into the Emirates Stadium in 2006, where they struggled to relive their trophy-winning days during the early part of Wenger's reign.
Since that time, the Gunners have not won the Premier League title again, but they have lifted three FA Cups, all of which have been won in recent years.
For Tottenham, they are yet to lift any silverware with Pochettino, but they are currently second in the Premier League table and in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup.
