The annual Central Economic Work Conference was held in Beijing last week, with Chinese leaders charting the course for the economy in 2019 – a key year for the country’s goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects by 2020. Under the main theme of “stabilizing expectations”, China will seek to implement further market reforms and balanced fiscal policy, while also cutting taxes and doing its best to limit any negative effects of trade tensions.
